SUMMARY

The Mechanical Optical Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in our manufacturing team, responsible for maintaining cleanroom integrity, performing precise assembly of mechanical and optical components, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring the success of our production processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.  

  • Perform precision assembly and integration of mechanical and optical components for electro-optical payloads, ensuring adherence to cleanroom standards and strict compliance with relevant protocols.
  • Ensure the cleanroom environment meets required parameters by regularly monitoring conditions and promptly reporting any deviations.
  • Conduct routine tests, inspections, and precision measurements on assembled mechanical and optical components to verify functionality and compliance with quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly or performance issues in electro-optical payloads using mechanical and optical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members and managers to communicate project progress, address challenges, and suggest process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of assembly procedures, inspection results, and troubleshooting activities to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of assembly and testing processes.
  • Strict adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a cleanroom environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with mechanical-optical systems and UAV technologies.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under strict guidelines and procedures.
  • Prior experience in UAV payload assembly.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14644 or other cleanroom standards.
  • Certification in electro-optics, photonics, or a similar field.
