SALARY RANGE: $115,000 - $152,000

SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Electrical Wiring Interconnect (EWIS) Engineer to join our team, with a focus on wire harness design and schematic creation. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical system design, creating technical drawings, and producing high-quality documentation for manufacturing. This mid-level role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with production and engineering teams to ensure harness designs meet project requirements. Experience with uncrewed systems (UAS) is preferred but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Design and develop detailed wire harness drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Create and maintain documentation packages, including wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications to support production and assembly.
- Select appropriate materials and components, considering cost, reliability, and performance in line with design requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and systems engineering, to ensure seamless integration of harness designs into overall system architecture.
- Support troubleshooting and issue resolution for wire harness-related technical challenges during prototyping and production phases.
- Conduct design reviews and provide input on manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of wire harnesses.
- Assist with the testing and validation of wire harness assemblies, ensuring compliance with performance and durability standards.
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
· B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar UAS related field
· Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design, such as AutoCAD, Zuken E3, or SolidWorks Electrical.
· Strong understanding of wire harness design principles, including schematic creation, routing, and connector selection.
· Familiarity with electrical standards and regulatory requirements for harness manufacturing.
· Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and maintaining part documentation.
· 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on wire harness design, development, or related work in complex systems.
· Proven track record of creating and managing technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and design-related issues effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with simulation tools for electrical system validation and analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 or other wiring and cable harnessing standards.
- Prior experience with uncrewed systems (UAS), aerospace, or similar industries involving complex electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience working within a production environment, with knowledge of manufacturing processes for harness assembly.
