Position Overview:

Premiere sports and entertainment facilities in Southern Ontario are currently recruiting for Part-Time Labourers. 

 

These positions will assist in the day to day activities of our multi-use facilities. We are looking for responsible individuals, with the ability to work a variety of shifts at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium and at our Community Arenas including Sportsworld, Activa, Lions, Grand River, Don McLaren and Civic Square. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs janitorial tasks in accordance with the daily and weekly work plan, such as cleaning washrooms, dressing rooms, meeting/hospitality rooms, public areas, stands and outside grounds. Further details on what will be required is listed below:
    • Sweep and mop floors in dressing rooms using brooms and mops
    • Clean sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors, windows, walls, floors, water fountains, and all touch points
    • Empty wastebaskets, garbage cans, recyclables, compost and transports to disposal areas
    • Re-stock paper products
  • Support our Full-time staff with on ice procedures - move nets, shovel snow
  • Assist with set-up for special events/room rentals (chairs, tables, stage deck, curtains)
  • Outdoor maintenance including snow removal, hand salting, grass cutting, line trimming, picking litter
  • Assist with baseball diamond preparation, raking, sweeping
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Must have completed partial high school education.
  • Must have up to 1 month of related experience.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with limited supervision in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be able to perform physical labour and be able to lift to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions (cold indoor environment as well as all outside weather conditions)
  • Must be able to work weeknights and weekend shifts starting as early as 7:00am and as late as 1:00am
  • Must adhere to policies and procedures of The Aud and Arenas, which will be provided to you upon hire.
  • Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.

 

Note that shifts will be predominantly evenings and weekends for regular programming and special events, and mandatory online training will be required prior to starting your first day of work.
