Position Overview:

As a Temporary Labourer joining the Parks team for our Winter season, you be responsible for work related to clearing and maintaining sidewalks, facility walkways, multi-use pathways, and parking lots, as well as inspecting city assets.

 

Shift availability includes: Day Shifts, Afternoon Shifts and Night Shifts.

 

Responsibilities:

Positions will involve a variety of winter control duties including manual labour organized within the following winter sections:

  • Downtown Sidewalks, City Hall, Market, Victoria Park Outdoor Rink.
  • Hand Clearing - Sidewalks, Facility Walkways, Walkway Steps and School Crossing Guard Intersections.
  • City Sidewalks, inspection of winter rinks, toboggan hills, dog parks and other city assets.
  • Facility Parking Lots, BMUT’s/Multi use trails, Cemeteries and Representative Route Patrol.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma.
  • Valid MTO “G” class driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills.
  • Available and flexible to work varying shifts, rotational duties, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties including manual labour.
  • Ability to participate as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrated communication/customer service skills with an ability to keep accurate written records.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
