Position Title:Equipment Manager

Department:Maintenance

Reports To:Maintenance Manager

 

Description:

The Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, and performing duties related to operating, maintaining, and repairing of production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. The Equipment Manager must perform a range of duties supporting and directing staff to ensure profitable business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain machine operation, maintenance procedures, develop preventative maintenance program
  • Develop and implement an on-going maintenance-training program
  • Work with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and recover all major machine breakdowns
  • Effectively manage spare parts, tooling and fixtures including source; specify and purchase maintenance items
  • Ensure continuous reduction of overall plant downtime using available resources
  • Complete work assignments within budget, manpower and timing constraints
  • Follow procedures and supervise a program of continuing quality assurance to ensure proper conduct of preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external plant policies and procedures
  • Ensure safety of all personnel in the Maintenance group meets company standards of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and those within Company Policy
  • Participate in machinery related safety incident investigation and follow-ups
  • Work with other department for all safety and quality concern investigations to develop proper corrective actions
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies
  • Conduct other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a maintenance supervisor or manager role
  • Electrician or Millwright license
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI, machine control and industrial robotics
  • Ability to interpret machine schematic, electrical and mechanical drawings 
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employee and elicit work output
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
