Position Summary:


The Director of Business Development is responsible for specifying, planning, and driving the growth of new products and solutions in the Energy Storage segment of the solar market. This role is key in formulating innovative product solutions and building productive, sustainable relationships with both external and internal business partners (suppliers and customers) to ensure the ongoing development and success of our business expansion.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collect and understand customer needs, market trends, and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap in the Energy Storage market segment.
  • Develop and engage early adopter customers in testing and launching new Energy Storage products and solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and business plans for product or service improvement, customization, remodeling, and new product/sales/service development.
  • Assess operational issues regarding competitiveness, staying current with trends, innovations, and pricing while keeping up to date with external and internal developments to identify new market segments.
  • Collaborate with internal development and delivery teams or external suppliers to ensure consistency in product and schedule expectations. Conduct and participate in midterm and final product design reviews to assess product quality.
  • Align and help develop product after-service strategies with internal and external service partners.
  • Work with field marketing and sales teams to manage the product launch process.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the storage and solar industry.
  • Proven track record in business development.
  • Confident in decision-making regarding product guidelines and purposes, with a focus on follow-through and completion.
  • Understanding of financial reports, including budgetary guidelines and product expenditures.
  • Entrepreneurial background in a sales capacity.
  • Can-do attitude, competitive, and driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic planning, and implementation skills.
  • Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement approximately 50-60%.
