Position Title:    Head of Digitalization and Software Technology Development

Position Summary: 

As Head of Digitalization and Software Technology Development for IQ-STORAGE, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technological direction software technology platform development and artificial intelligence (AI) integration used to build leading edge software platforms used for energy solution digitalization, system performance analytics and grid energy management systems. You will build and lead our software and controls engineering team in designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions that optimize energy digitalization and management.  

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software technology development, controls engineering in the related field of software-based energy management systems, distributed computing, and strategic technology leadership. You will be responsible for leading the software engineering organization, driving technical innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of our related products and solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

Technical Strategy and Planning 

• Define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for software development, aligned with the organization's business goals and objectives.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to support the development process and meet project requirements.
• Work closely with customers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Software Development 

• Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring high quality, scalability, and reliability of our solutions.
• Champion best practices in software development, agile methodologies, and DevOps principles to drive efficiency and innovation. Lead the invention and evolution of the BESS EMS platform, leveraging your expertise to introduce new features, functionalities, and enhancements that deliver value to customers.
• Define and optimize the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate challenges and ensure successful outcomes.

Project Delivery: 

• Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale energy projects to customers, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project management, sales, and customer success teams to effectively scope, plan, and execute projects, addressing any technical challenges or obstacles along the way.
• Drive a customer-centric approach to project delivery, prioritizing customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.

Required Qualifications and Skills: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proven track record of leadership in growing and leading engineering organizations, ideally within the energy management or related industry.
• Extensive experience in product innovation, including the invention and development of successful technology platforms or products.
• Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale projects to customers on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for technology innovation and a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics within the energy management domain.
• Have domain experience with software controls for utility scale photovoltaic or battery energy storage systems

Additional Requirements: 

• Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with energy industry regulations, standards, and protocols.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements, industry events, and team collaboration.
