Position Title: Senior IT Network Administrator

Department:     Corporate Information Technology Department           

Reports To:     Manager, IT Infrastructure and Architecture

Location:          Guelph, ON (Hybrid)

Position Summary: 

The Corporate IT department at Canadian Solar Inc. is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services.
As a member of the Corporate IT Infrastructure team, the incumbent is responsible for managing day-to-day operations to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability, and security of Canadian Solar information and assets. The Senior IT Network Administrator will support IT network infrastructure and major projects for a growing Global company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, deployment, and administration of Global network infrastructure.
  • This role will provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance on complex technical projects.
  • Identify and assess industry trends in Infrastructure solutions, architecture, and information security.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of wired and wireless office network infrastructure.
  • Provide support and technical guidance on level 2 and level 3 support ticket and issue escalation.
  • Take ownership of risks ensuring they are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Follow standard change control, ticketing, project methodology and incident management processes.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences and transfer knowledge with other team members.
  • Ensure all problems are logged and tracked in the IT ticketing system in accordance with agreed upon service levels.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education:
  • A three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
  • Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications are desirable assets.
Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive Network Administration experience, preferably in a Global manufacturing environment.
  • Managing lifecycle of network infrastructure, hardware, software, security, compliance, and maintenance.
  • Direct experience with layer 2 and 3 switching, routing, wireless networking, zero trust networking solutions and monitoring tools.
  • Managing on-premises and cloud connectivity with multiple offices, factories, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and other cloud providers.
  • Deep understanding of IT processes including ticketing systems, change control, security administration & best practices.
  • Experience working in a Global company with multiple divisions, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to provide knowledge transfer to other IT team members.
  • Project management best practices and working with project stakeholders.
  • Developing IT standards, documentation, and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience migrating on-premises infrastructure to cloud, acquisitions and divestitures is an asset.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Provide occasional after-hours or weekend project work or support.
  • Potential travel to other Canadian Solar Inc. sites Globally or training conferences.
