Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Mechanical Services the Plumbing Technician will be responsible for the layout, assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing any piping, fixtures, equipment, products and systems for supply and disposal of water that has been used for any industrial purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to customer needs, inquiries and requirements in a professional, prompt, respectful and courteous manner at all times
  • Diligently responds to work orders, work assignments and other work requests in a timely manner consistent with the response and rectification times outlined in the Services Agreement
  • Performs maintenance, inspection and repair work on all facilities and systems within the scope of work defined by the Facility Maintenance Services Agreement (“FMSA”), as and when required, directed or assigned, consistent with his or her skills, abilities and training
  • Works together with other maintenance staff, management, Hospital staff and contractors, as and when required, in a cooperative, efficient and respectful manner to complete assigned work.
  • Ensures that all work areas are kept clean and tidy at all time in a manner consistent with good housekeeping practices
  • Required to be on call in a rotation with the current staff.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

 

Qualification:

  • Candidate must possess a Red Seal in Ontario and be either already a member of local 46 or be eligible to become a member.
  • Must be a Journeyman
  • Must have service experience with heating systems and glycol
  • Minimum 5 years commercial experience
  • Maintain Education, professional designation, knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics
  • Up to date knowledge of local plumbing codes
  • Strong Verbal Communication, Stress- and Time-Management Skills
