Job Summary:

The Lead Software Engineer builds and maintains high-quality software utilized in the oversight of our business and the administration of our public-facing applications.  Leverages experience, advanced knowledge, and problem-solving skills to analyze both functional and performance problems, determine the root cause, and deliver solutions. The Lead Software Engineer operates with incomplete information and helps define outcomes and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to the design, implementation, quality, and deployment of successful software
  • Exercise best practices and company standards for software design, development, and documentation
  • Functionally decompose complex problems into well-defined, executable tasks to drive resolution
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and partnering on test strategies that minimize manual testing
  • Support the technical development of junior members on the team
  • Take initiative and manage the execution of complex projects from planning through delivery and monitoring
  • Share in the ownership of an architectural vision and actively pursue incremental progress
  • Ensure solutions are capable of scaling to current and future client demands
  • Complete individual and team commitments within the time/complexity estimate
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested. 
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
  • Experience collaborating in an agile development environment
  • Experience with modern web application design in the cloud
  • Programming experience in C# and object oriented design
  • Understanding of SQL and relational database best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in investing/trading and the fintech industry
  • Well versed in .NET, C#, NuGet, and GIT
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000 to 205,000.
