Job Summary:
Application Engineering Support (AES) is responsible for a range of critical tasks aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient functioning and high availability of Envestnet’s Unified Wealth Management Platform, which encompasses modules such as accounting, model management, trading, billing, financial planning, performance computations, investment research, and reporting. The AES team acts as a crucial bridge between Customer Service, Infrastructure Operations, Operations, and the Development teams, providing valuable feedback and insights to continuously improve platform reliability, functionality, and overall performance. The team is also responsible for problem management and service requests with strong emphasize on meeting Service Level Agreements and collaborating with developers to report and track software bugs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide hands on technical leadership on Envestnet Wealth Application issues primarily in the Cloud environment.
- Performs root cause analysis and utilizes Jira defect tracking tool to create detailed, high quality error reports.
- Run the application in debug mode to recreate complex issues and decode underlying business logic.
- Continually evaluate our mission-critical wealth management SaaS application with an emphasis on stability and performance.
- Design and develop tightly integrated custom monitoring solutions for the Wealth Management platform.
- Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps in Confluence.
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with critical internal teams and manage production support escalations.
- Participate in on call rotation, including some weekend support and hand-off of issues between onsite and offshore.
- Manage cross functional communication through various channels such as calls and emails, logging and tracking tickets using Jira.
- Independently troubleshoot, and delegates to other application engineering support team members to solve, or escalate application issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective management of requestor expectations.
- Manage requestor expectations by understanding their needs, assessing feasibility, and delivering timely solutions.
- Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
- As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields or relevant work experience, Masters degree preferred
- 8+ years of overall experience in developing or supporting applications
- 5+ years of experience development/support experience in Java
- 2+ years of experience in investment management and securities trading services or related industries
- Retains strengthened knowledge of the overall suite of products offered
- Experience working in Jira, Confluence, Splunk, and New Relic or other APM tools
- Experience in developing and supporting RESTful APIs and Micro services is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in developing SQL Queries and data analysis is preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in private or public cloud is preferred
