Responsible for the creation, setup, and maintenance of store volume grades and indexes and their direct impact on assortment plans. They are also responsible for the inventory setups and staging for new stores – as well as the inventory reductions and clearance strategies for closing stores. They are considered by cross-functional teams to be the experts in-store volume planning, store grades/indexes, new stores, closing stores, seasonal category store groups, and overall choice count development. This position reports to the Director of Allocation.
What You’ll Do:
- Through historical data analysis, revenue forecasting, and future assortment strategies the Sr. Store Planner helps to create and maintain volume grades and indexes that are used by the team when developing choice counts, store sales volume targets, and efficient inventory levels.
- Responsible for helping to create total choice count targets from a conceptual assortment planning point of view as well as a historical year-over-year maintenance perspective,
- Conducts seasonal analysis to determine specific store groups for seasonal category buys. (Swimwear, Cold Weather Functional, etc.)
- Will present store-grade revenue plans to senior-level management on a quarterly basis. This ensures alignment from top to bottom and across all teams before assortments are created.
- Manages inventory levels for new and remodeled stores; partners with Allocation, Visual Merchandising and Store Operations to ensure stores open with appropriate Inventory levels, Floor-set assortment and Basic items/categories as well as any seasonal/regional needs.
- Collaborates with Real Estate, DC, and Store Operation teams to ensure timely exchange of new store plan information.
- Initiates analysis of new stores; makes recommendations on store assortment strategies based on store volume, store capacity, seasonality, regional needs, and specialized assortments.
Assists with responses to field communication; responding promptly and objectively while ensuring communication to stores is positive and supportive. - Manages clearance transfer recommendations for new stores.
- Assist with managing inventory levels in select Clearance only locations through transfers.
- Develops and provides ad-hoc reporting to all levels of management and cross-functional teams as needed.
- At least 5 years of retail allocation and/or merchandise planning experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong attention to details; ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel & Outlook. - Meets deadlines, prioritize appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
- Experience with JDA/Arthur Allocation system is a plus.
- Illustrates a dedication to meeting the requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
