Description

The Assistant Registrar is responsible for the academic scheduling of course offerings across the University’s three schools including the management of course data in the student information system as well as the maintenance and reserving of academic space on campus.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all course offerings entered by 3 University schools for course scheduling and classroom assignments. Includes the maintaining and creating course eligibility rules, course requisites, section registration rules and completing the academic room assignment process using Ellucian’s Colleague and CollegeNet’s 25Live.

Responsible for training academic department staff on course creation and course section maintenance and the University’s classroom scheduling parameters. Communicating updates to departmental staff and chairs regarding the course production schedule for each term.

University Registrar’s Office primary functional administrator for the 25Live Scheduling software as it pertains to academic space and reserving on campus review sessions. Responsible for utilization of CollegeNet’s X25 for space analysis and benchmarking.

Responsible for maintaining and updating the University’s Academic Calendar and serves with the University Registrar on the Calendar Committee.

Provides coverage and support for the University Registrar’s internal phone line as well as the Ram Registration and Financial customer service center.

Responsible for training front line staff and RAM Center staff on URO operations, business practices, and university academic policies and procedures.  Ensures staff have the appropriate equipment and supplies to perform their job.

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s required
  • Minimum 2-3 years work experience, preferably in a registrar’s setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Prior exposure to a Student Information system.
  • Strong organizational skills, technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to highest quality of customer service
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple competing priorities and exercise good judgement.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with a student information system; strong preference for experience with Ellucian’s Colleague student information system.
  • Experience with performing space scheduling on a large scale; strong preference for experience performing academic scheduling using CollegeNet’s 25Live.
