Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice or Practitioner in Residence position with a focus on Artificial Intelligence in Business, starting in July 2024. We are looking for candidates who can teach AI focused courses and effectively bridge the gap between AI technologies and business applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching AI-related courses, as well as facilitating the integration of AI into the broader curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical quantitative field, with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.
  • At least 5 years of business experience in applying AI and ML within different domains of business, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of both the technical aspects of these technologies, their use in making business decisions and their strategic implications.
  • A passionate commitment to education and to nurturing the development of future business leaders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, comprehensible language for students and professors with diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with or openness to learning and utilizing various teaching modalities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and delivering AI-related curriculum - collaborating with faculty from both technical and business disciplines to develop interdisciplinary courses that bridge the gap between AI technology and business applications.
  • Providing strategic advice to the school’s leadership team regarding direction, resource, and branding pertinent to AI initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the school’s team on external partnerships to ensure the curriculum remains relevant to current business needs and future technological trends.

THE BUSINESS SCHOOL: The Sawyer Business School offers 12 undergraduate majors under BSBA degree and 9 graduate degrees. The school has earned three accreditations - AACSB for business and accounting, NASPAA for public administration, and CAHME for healthcare management.
