Senior Software Engineer - UI (Hybrid, North Carolina)

Meet the Products and Technology Team
What you'll do
- You'll build intuitive data analytics experiences
- You'll collaborate closely with product management, user experience and backend engineers to understand customer needs and translate them into product features.
- You'll participate in the development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing and ongoing support of systems.
- You'll maintain and improve existing code with pride of ownership.
- You’ll help drive the technical roadmap for front-end improvements.
- You’ll mentor and coach other engineers, share the work you are doing, and participate in code reviews.
- You’ll accelerate other engineers by guiding both short-term (strategic) and long-term (durable) solutions.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of experience working with web and/or client-side technologies.
- Good experience with full stack and/or backend development
- Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- Nice to have some infrastructure experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Python, GitLab CI/CD
- You have expert skills developing full-featured client-side applications using modern Javascript/Typescript technologies such as React/Redux, Backbone.js, Storybook etc.
- Knowledge of browser internals like Javascript engines, native DOM, Event APIs, browser quirks and ways to tune code for the best performance.
- You're passionate about JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, componentization, and building for scale.
- You're comfortable with command-line applications, source control, testing frameworks, continuous integration and other aspects of developing in large, distributed software teams.
- You are a role model for others, with high standards for code quality, test coverage, optimizing developer enablement, and sharing best practices.
- You collaboratively lead design sessions and code reviews, regularly contributing to architecture discussions and team processes.
- A passion for instrumenting/analyzing telemetry to make data-driven decisions that matter to our customers.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and work experience.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
