Our team focuses on developing and maintaining the Splunk Operator – a product built in Golang that automates application lifecycle management on Kubernetes. What you'll get to do

  • Develop and Deploy Operator Software: Design, build, and maintain the Splunk Operator for Kubernetes to manage and automate the full lifecycle of Splunk deployments.
  • Integrate with the Kubernetes Ecosystem: Leverage your deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, control plane operations, and distributed data management to improve operator capabilities and ensure seamless integration with modern cloud-native environments.
  • Drive Automation and Innovation: Utilize your expertise in Go and modern DevOps practices to automate routine tasks, improve system resiliency, and innovate new solutions that optimize Splunk’s performance on Kubernetes.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead initiatives to design, monitor, and troubleshoot complex cloud-native solutions, providing technical guidance and ensuring operational excellence in high-stakes environments.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with customers, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and product teams to integrate the operator with complementary technologies, contributing to a cohesive and scalable platform.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: 8+ years of proven experience in software engineering with a strong background in cloud-native applications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Kubernetes Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes, including working on control plane components and automating application lifecycle management.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Go is essential. Experience with other languages like Python is a plus.
  • Distributed Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of distributed data management and related challenges is highly desirable.
  • DevOps and Automation: Experience deploying critical applications using DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Ansible) in SaaS and/or on-prem environments.
  • Cloud Integration: Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration of cloud services into scalable solutions.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
