Environmental Supervisor I

Summary:
The Environmental Supervisor I is responsible for coordinating the site environmental program, administering on-site contracts, and managing the daily issues related to environmental compliance work during the construction. Duties will consist of preparation, coordination, and implementation of the site environmental plan encompasses the entire environmental program and strategies, including stormwater pollution prevention, spill prevention and control, cultural and historical resource management, flora and fauna management, waste management, and sustainability. Must have a strong knowledge of stormwater as applied in construction activities, an understanding of hazardous chemical storage, chemical handling, and spill remediation, and a comprehension of civil planning and phasing.
Requirements:
- Implements the RES Environmental Management System at the construction site level in coordination with the HSQE department.
- Coordinates and directs all site environmental construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.
- Implements erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater management plans.
- Reviews engineering drawings to identify all required BMPs and ensures the project can be built safely and reliably.
- Coordinates with the construction team to plan the installation of all BMPs.
- Performs the required environmental inspections to identify required deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicates with the construction team the identified deficiencies and track the corrective actions until closure to ensure compliance with construction permit requirements.
- Manages environmental regulatory compliance.
- Coordinates and manages site reclaim and restoration.
- Implements spill prevention and control plans.
- Manages compliance with site-specific spill prevention and control plans.
- Obtains permits when necessary.
- Performs inspections as required.
- Manages the clean-up, remediation, and documentation of any spills on the project site.
- Researches and communicates to all stakeholder’s project environmental requirements and creates/implements plans for compliance.
- Prepares environmental applications and required compliance documents for use during the project.
- Maintains accurate environmental record keeping for compliance and internal use.
- Guides subcontractors on environmental issues.
- Operates Company vehicle to oversee site operations; drives to and on-site during daytime and nighttime hours and in adverse weather conditions.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
Safety:
- Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
- Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
- Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
- Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
- Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
- Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications:
- Highschool/GED is required
- Associate’s degree in Sciences or Construction Management is preferred.
- 3+ years of construction or regulatory experience performing audits or inspections to ensure permit compliance on large-scale construction projects is required.
- Ability to travel 75-100%.
- A valid driver's license is required.

Anticipated base salary range: $84,000 - $105,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
