Position overview:

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support Development and Management of our Suppliers to achieve the satisfaction of our customers and their requirements.  If you are a highly motivated, organized, strive to win as a team player -- then we want to talk to you!

This position may require travel up to 80% of the time

Objective:  Perform functions to evaluate Supplier Capability and maintain or improvement Supplier Performance.  These functions can include Auditing, Performance Monitoring, Supplier Development, Quality Management System Internal and External Audits and Continuous Improvement.

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible of the following:

  • Perform Supplier Audits including Control Plan, Process, Compliance and Distribution audits.
  • Review and Approve New Supplier Profiles and Documentation.
  • Manage and work with Suppliers on Critical Supplier Issues and Corrective/Preventive actions
  • Support Supplier PPAP Processing and Performance
  • Monitor Supplier Performance and work with Suppliers to improve identified areas
  • Align with Supplier Council to identify key actions and development plans with Suppliers
  • Drive the Supplier Improvement Program as needed with Suppliers
  • Participate in and lead Quality Management System Internal and External Audits
  • Lead Program Management with Suppliers to achieve Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to Total Cost of Quality Improvements, analysis and monitoring

Skills and Qualifications:

  • S. Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years quality experience in a automotive, or stamping/robotic assembly environment;
  • OR, A.S. Engineering Technology plus 5 years experience in automotive or a stamping/robotic assembly environment;
  • Core automotive industry skills, Auditing, Quality Reporting, Statistical Analysis capabilities
  • Experience in the use of AIAG Core Tools including PPAP, MSA, FMEA, APQP, SPC, Feasibility, and Control Plans
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems including: ISO 9000 and IATF 16949.

              (VDA experience can be accepted in lieu of IATF 16949)

  • Competent in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action
  • Must be proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, and comfortable interpreting Excel based reporting.
  • Proficient with Google suite
  • Analytical and a problem solver.
  • Outstanding time management and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
  • Fastener experience is ideal but not required.
  • Ability to understand the analytical aspect of forecasting

  • Prefer ASQ Certifications in CQE or CQT or equivalent experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
