Position overview:

 

The role of the Inventory Accountant is to maintain the integrity of the Inventory records by monthly reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.  The function will also involve ensuring appropriate adjustments are made where necessary to the Inventory records by the Inventory Finance Team or other departments.  The role requires working closely with Global cross functional stakeholders in Operations, General Finance, Accounts Payable, Sales and Supply Chain.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

The Finance Analyst – Inventory Accountant will:

 

  • Monthly reconciliation of Inventory records to General Ledger for each stocking location within EMEA, APAC & NA.
  • Processing of monthly journals, account reconciliations and balance sheet flux analysis including global intercompany movement.
  • Analysis and reconcile Intercompany movements and identifying un-realised profit within inventory.
  • Inventory analysis into cost adjustments and P&L impacts relating to inventory movement. Identify any potential risk and monitor trends through KPIs and reporting.
  • Assist with annual site visits to validate the accuracy of Inventory levels within warehouse locations.
  • Annual audit support and additional adhoc tasks.
  • Ensure Company processes are followed by all departments dealing with Inventory transactions i.e. Accounts Payable, Supply Chain / Purchasing, Operations and other Finance Groups.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

 

  • Understand company policy and processes, ensuring these are maintained and rectify where applicable.
  • Data analysis and reporting within a specific time period
  • Reconciliation of Global inventory delta
  • Ensuring that all perpetual counts meet financial requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance or equivalent in working experience.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Highly motivated, high energy, ‘can do’ attitude, competitive self-starter with a strong sense of urgency ensuring specified deadlines for work and/or reporting are met.   
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientated.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, manipulating data via use of pivots / lookups, VBA/Macros, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in fast paced collaborative environment navigating ambiguity and complexity.
  • Enforce good housekeeping.
