Position overview:


Optimas is currently searching for an experienced and energetic Supply Chain Team Leader based in Pune. You will assist the Supply Chain Manager in ensuring 100% on time delivery to the customer and providing best in class service to our customers in a multi-location global distribution environment. Outstanding collaboration with other members of Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales and Operations support teams is critical to achieving objectives.


Principal Activities:


  • Supervise a team of Supply Chain Planners who themselves are based in Pune,
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships,
  • Meet and/or exceed service expectations and initiatives of the business,
  • Partner with sourcing to ensure inventory requirements are aligned,
  • Adhere to and perform to the Supply Chain Planner key performance indicators.



Main Responsibilities:


  • Checking the accuracy of work undertaken by the team, ensuring the track will be covered for all parts from all the Supply Chain Planners in the team,
  • Acting as the first point of contact for escalation to the Supply Chain Manager,
  • Attending and representing the team at Resource and Running Change meetings,
  • Continuous communication with suppliers via phone and email; initial order planning and acknowledgement, tracking, shipping, discrepancies, invoice errors, quality issues and inbound freight management,
  • Responsible for system transactions related to purchasing and order requirement scheduling,
  • Manage supplier orderbooks,
  • Utilize daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to optimize inventory investment,
  • Communicate effectively with the Supply chain team and other internal departments,
  • Communicate with suppliers as required to build and maintain a strong relationship to aid resolving service, delivery, and other issues,
  • Meet and/or exceed Supply Chain KPI’s,
  • Make critical decisions daily with the ability to develop root cause analysis,
  • Collaborate with Operations to meet urgent customer demand and order requirements,
  • Collaborate with the Technical Service Department on quality related issues,
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Analysists and Demand Planning to continuously improve forecast and other portfolios to the supplier,
  • Perform other duties as required.
