Overview:
The Sales Desk Manager will be responsible for the growth, development and leadership a team of internal and hybrid wholesalers to achieve overall Firm and Sales team goals. As a member of the Sales Desk Management team, this person will assist in executing the strategic business plan for our inside sales desk, developing and managing team members’ skills and fostering a sales culture of excellence and inclusiveness. This is a hybrid position in Boston, MA.

As a member of the Sales Desk Management team, this person will assist in executing the strategic business plan for our inside sales desk, developing and managing team members’ skills and fostering a sales culture of excellence and inclusiveness. This is a hybrid position in Boston, MA.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage the people and sales activities of a team of internal and hybrid sales professionals.
- Empower and coach sales professionals to excel as top performers.
- Support the development of key skills among the team in areas such as presentation skills, territory management, effective selling skills, product and industry knowledge.
- Partner with the extended sales leadership and field sales to coordinate and maintain effective client coverage.
- Manage performance and metrics and provide feedback to individuals relative to role expectations.
- Provide sales ideas, thought leadership and act as a source of knowledge around best practices.
- Partner with other departments (product, marketing, finance, human resources, etc.) to effectively represent the initiatives of the sales desk.
- Run department staff meetings, team meetings and sales desk huddles.
- Interview and onboard new internal sales team members.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, learning and mentorship to support a high energy, results oriented sales desk.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of prior sales experience. Prior sales management experience preferred.
- SIE, Series 7, 63 required. Series 24 required within 6 months of employment.
- Understanding of sales technology tools, a plus (i.e. Salesforce, Seismic, Y Charts, MPI, WebEx, MS Teams).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proactive, solutions oriented approach.
- Prior experience managing difficult conversations and providing constructive feedback.
- Outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships.
- High degree of self-motivation, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to be successful as a leader in sales.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
