Dietary Clerk- PRN
Description
Nashville General Hospital is hiring a PRN Dietary Specialist for Food Nutrition Services as a Part Time Job in Nashville, Tennessee.
Key Responsibilities
· Take and process patient meal orders (by phone or in person)
· Verify physician-prescribed diets and ensure meals match dietary restrictions
· Input and update meal selections in the hospital’s computer system
· Communicate with dietitians regarding special diet needs or changes
· Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate meal delivery
· Assist patients with menu choices based on their diet plan
· Maintain patient records related to food preferences and allergies
· Handle patient questions or concerns about meals
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED (Preferred)
· Previous experience in food service, healthcare, or customer service preferred
· Basic computer and data entry skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy
Work Environment & Schedule
· Hospital or healthcare facility setting
· May include weekends, holidays, and shift work
· Combination of desk work and walking between units
Key Skills
· Customer service and patient interaction
· Organization and multitasking
· Knowledge of therapeutic diets (diabetic, low sodium, etc.)
· Communication between departments
· Accuracy in order entry and diet compliance
