What you’ll do

  • Responsible for the consolidation process for the US Group, ensure consolidated financial statements are in adherence with ASPE and company policies
  • Responsible for supervision of staff accountant and senior staff accountant
  • Responsible for timely and accurate period end close process, financial statement preparation, financial reporting design and production
  • Ensure documentation supporting financials is complete, organized and timely prepared and reviewed
  • Drive accounting process and data standardization actions and improvements; provide structured guidance to division accounting teams that enables increased standardization and consistency in accounting practices
  • Serve as primary point of contact for external audits, act as liaison between the divisions and the external audit team; ensure complete and accurate documentation is delivered timely
  • Review divisional financial statements for unusual variances and transactions.  Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with ASPE, company policy and other statutory requirements
  • Alert the US Corporate Controller of any irregularities, lack of compliance, or any actual or potential problems associated with financial operations, audits, budgets or other financial matters
  • Partner with the US Corporate Controller to develop and enhance financial reporting that transforms data into actionable information, creates value and meets the needs of the business
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing variances and trends

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, required
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (JDE a plus) and report writing tools
  • Homebuilding, construction or related industry experience helpful
  • At least 2 years Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks timely and efficiently
  • Must be capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, and be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and creative problem solver
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with Hyperion or OneStream would be preferred

Bonus points

  • Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
  • JD Edward ERP experience preferred
