What you’ll do

• Prepare estimates, take-offs and solicit bids
• Suggest alternatives for pricing of both pre-planned and custom changes
• Implement cost structures for purchase orders, custom changes and price purchase orders as necessary ensuring target margins are met
• Review and approve drawings prepared for the site
• Participate in site visits to review accuracy and any necessary changes
• Actively participate in analysis of drawings and field work for value engineering opportunities
• Resolve problems and concerns related to upgrades and options sold of a technical nature
• Coordinate through the Division’s Accounting Department, the review and execute necessary changes on invoices from suppliers while addressing discrepancies in JDE
• Develop and maintain working relationships with trade partners
• Fully execute new trade partner agreements with an understanding of Mattamy’s insurance requirements

What you bring

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in both purchasing/estimating or new home production
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Analytical ability to deal with costs/revenue and build financial models taking into account takes rates and total cost
• Conceptualize and communicate ideas and revisions in both 2-D working drawings and 3-D concepts and visualization
• Communicate technical and building code issues for all staff in laymen’s terms
• Ability to listen to concerns and draw out the primary concern to be addressed and resolved
• Competent in AutoCAD/Autodesk Design Review

Bonus points

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on Construction, Finance, Business or Engineering (degree preferred, but equivalent industry specific work experience acceptable)
