Job Title: Software Development Engineer (SDE) - Data

Department:Baseball Operations

Reports To: Director of Baseball Systems

Status: Exempt

 

Primary Objective: We are seeking a Software Development Engineer – Data to join our baseball engineering team and help build and maintain the data systems that support our baseball operations. As a Software Development Engineer – Data, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions to support the needs of a wide range of users, from executives and analysts to coaches and players. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating new data sources, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data sets, and managing the processing and storage of large, complex data sets. With your expertise in data engineering, you will ensure that our data systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable, and you will play a key role in helping our organization make data-driven decisions. Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, business, or a related field required. Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a similar role required.
  • Experience in enterprise software and database design, architecture, development, and support.
  • Experience with SQL and a working knowledge of SQL Administrator related responsibilities.
  • Experience with one or more data ingestion or ETL tools.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and database types preferred.

The Mariners are committed to providing a competitive total rewards package for our valued Team Members. The anticipated range of compensation for this role is $110,000-125,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also provide complimentary parking and paid public transportation.
