Who We’re Looking For:
As a key member of the Operations team, the Senior Assembler will assemble, inspect, and package and kit the Company’s medical device products. The Senior Assembler also provides on the spot direction to other Assemblers and performs other duties on the manufacturing floor. Work location is currently Plymouth, but candidates should be open to a potential move to another site within 15 miles, depending on future operational requirements.
 
About the Role: 
  • Prepare and assembler materials, manufacture medical devices in a controlled environment and test products and subassemblies for functionality or quality.
  • Complete lot history records (LHR) during manufacturing and inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Trains assemblers to operations based on documented procedures and maintains training records for production area.
  • Understands and updates all visual management requirements and communicates in a timely manner when production issues arise to minimize production impact.
  • Ensures work materials are present when needed and manages material supermarkets; that materials are accurately received, inspected, stored and delivered to appropriate areas ensuring compliance with quality standards and production schedules.
  • Assist with process and product qualification activities; conduct regular inventory checks.
  • Show constant attention to detail and immediately inform supervisor of anything out of the ordinary or anything which does not conform to the approved process sheets.
  • Conduct quality self-inspection of all assemblies processed.
  • Complete training and understand documentation needed to comply with Laborie's quality system policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies in terms of punctuality and availability and conform to other policies as described in Company's employee handbook. 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in medical device or other regulated industry.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational certificates preferred.
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing in a cleanroom and with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate problems or issues clearly and concisely; must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines and communicate in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and management.
  • Individuals will need to stand or sit for extended periods, and work at a cleanroom table height ranging from 30"-40" in a sitting or standing position depending on the workstation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers including MS Office.
  • If applicable, ability to work with and around chemicals daily with proper personal protective equipment in place.
