Job Title: Live Haul Manager
Location: De Queen Arkansas
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the catching and hauling of birds to various plants on a schedule that allows for a timely and constant flow of birds while ensuring both low shrinkage and low DOA counts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interviews and hires live haul drivers.
- Schedules drivers and coordinates delivery of live chickens to and from plants and farms.
- Ensures that all equipment is repaired and maintained by shop personnel.
- Works with internal partners, contract catchers, farm managers, and contract growers to ensure supply demands are met.
- Coordinates with the Plant Manager to address problems through resolution.
- Ensures that animal welfare practices are being executed.
- Stays abreast and ensures compliance of DOT regulations.
- Understands and implements PPC safety policies.
- May supervise Superintendents and Supervisors.
BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-7 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience required
- Effective communication both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Capable of independent decision making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to work assigned hours/days - including occasional weekends - as required.
- Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; SAP experience preferred
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.
