Senior Operations Accountant

The main responsibilities of the Senior Operations Accountant include accounting for raw material inventory in InVue and supplier warehouses, accounting for inbound/outbound freight, and cost of goods sold analysis. This position contributes to the organization’s success by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of complex accounting functions, supporting key processes, driving cost savings, and contributing to internal financial reporting.  This role reports to the Global Operations Accounting Manager.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial aspects of InVue’s raw material buy-sell program for our global network of suppliers including establishing cost, managing system pricing, completing monthly and ad hoc analysis, etc.
  • Complete E&O analysis on our global raw material inventory.
  • Manage financial aspects of the prepaid inventory process.
  • Own AR and AP processing for raw material suppliers and freight carriers.
  • Audit freight invoices to ensure alignment with negotiated rates and work with carriers to resolve exceptions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and partner with Operations to drive realization.
  • Support the monthly close process for assigned areas including accruals, variance and trend analysis, reporting, and customer paid air freight reconciliation.
  • Cross-train on other areas of the Finance department including accounting for finished goods, cost management system methodology and standards, etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in other projects and assignments as needed to support the goals of the department.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to support organizational needs.
  • Anticipate and meet business demands in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient with other software applications (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with AS400 preferred
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams as well as demonstrated ability to understand broad business and financial issues.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities
  • Highly organized, meticulously attentive to detail, and able to set priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
