FUNCTION

This position works in support of leadership and with full integration across the organization to build and execute frameworks and mechanisms for planning, monitoring, and reporting of Heifer’s organizational performance.

This position reports to the Director of Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

A. Strategy Management (35%)
  • Develop the planning and reporting infrastructure to support Heifer’s Organizational Performance Framework.
  • Construct necessary planning and reporting mechanisms and templates that support the alignment of teams with organizational priorities and strategies.
  • Establish and maintain key business relationships with key stakeholders in Mission Effectiveness, Programs, Finance and Administration, and Resource Development Operations.
  • Facilitate processes and staff work to support Heifer’s annual management cycle, including annual planning, resource allocation and budgeting, routine reporting, and learning and adaptation.
B. Analysis and Reporting (25%)
  • Develop and maintain routine structures, processes, and cadence for reporting and analysis.
  • Undertake analysis and provide operational insights to organizational effectiveness and performance
  • Collect and consolidate data/reports from peers across Mission Effectiveness, Programs,  and Finance and Administration
  • Identify business/organizational learning needs
  • Communicate analysis and synthesis of insights in accessible and meaningful ways that enable learning, interpretation, and action for all levels of leadership and key stakeholders, including Heifer’s Board of Directors.
C. Portfolio Management (25%)
  • Support global program operational planning and reporting operational in collaboration with key stakeholders with a focus on performance and results.
  • Coordinate across program teams on global operations, performance expectations, and performance reporting.
  • Maintain and support management processes for resource allocation and project approval for strategic projects and initiatives.  
D. May perform other job-related duties as assigned. (5%)

                                                                                             

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum 10 years experience in strategy management, strategy analysis, organizational planning, or related role and experience;
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Management or related field

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field of study
  2. Prior employment in the international development sector with direct experience in program management and operations
  3. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing processes and tools for organizational planning, key performance indicators, and routine reporting.
  4. Extensive experience in creating written and visual materials that clearly articulate insights to broad sets of internal stakeholders
  5. Ability to self-manage in a dynamic environment that requires high self-motivation and the ability to develop solutions independently or in a team of highly skilled professionals.
  6. Exercise independent discretion and judgment to solve complex problems.

  7. Knowledge and comfort with using MS Office and data visualization tools as required
