Manager, SW QA Engineering - Cloud
Description
Gigamon is seeking a self-motivated experienced Test manager for Cloud Functional Test. This position requires a techie-at-heart; a problem solver who is a self-starter and self-motivated; well organized, flexible, and effective with multiple simultaneous tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Manage the Cloud Functional Test team responsible for Cloud suite products on public/private cloud and lead/deliver quality SW releases.
- Implement comprehensive automation gates to ensure functional accuracy and follow an automated first model of testing
- Managing resources effectively to deliver commitment on schedule with highest quality
- Cultivate a high performing team and constantly raising the bar and ability to attract, groom and retain top talent
- Closely collaborate with peer development and QA teams, architects, customer support and product line managers
- As a key member of the Engineering management staff, contribute to the vision and strategy of continuous integration, improved development/QA processes, quality and productivity of test functions
- Work with customer support team and development in troubleshooting and reproducing field reported escalation issues
- Understand HW & SW architecture of products, and their implications on feature testing
Requirement:
- 10-14 years of overall relevant industry experience and a track record of shipping cloud based products for the enterprise and service provider markets
- At least 3 years of experience as a manager leading the test teams
- Experience in testing and delivering cloud native products
- Preferrable to have experience in L2/L3 protocols with functional test background,
- Previous hands-on scripting knowledge (Python/TCL/PERL) and RESTful API
- Hand-on experience with various test automation framework (Robot, PyTest) and knowledge on Terraform, Ansible, Chef
- Demonstrated experience in testing cloud solutions that are highly scalable and fault tolerant
- Technical knowledge of current virtualization software, tools, protocols and standards, including vCenter, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft VMM
- Experience building and managing vCenter Server and ESXi hosts, NSX Manager preferably in VMware 6.x and 7.x
- Working knowledge of Public/Private Clouds Amazon, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, OpenShift or any other cloud platforms
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes or Docker on Public/Private Clouds platforms is an advantage
- Deep understanding of full product life cycle, software development methods (both Agile and Waterfall), and development/test and build environments
- Ability to drive multi-geo projects by working effectively with remote teams.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, with a bias towards action and results.
- Conflict resolution skills including ability to bridge style difference.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills, both within the team and across the organization.
- Ability to mentor/coach/teach/facilitate and lead change in a highly technical/dynamic team.
- BS in CS or EE, MS strongly preferred.
