We are looking for an innovative marketing professional to lead our social media and influencer marketing efforts as Director, Social and Influencer Marketing. In this role you will develop the social media strategy for all of our sport brands with a social footprint of 10MM fans across a variety of social media platforms. Your mission will be to accelerate our social media following and engagement, thereby increasing revenue from social channels and impacting the success of FloSports, overall. 

As Director, Social and Influencer Marketing, you will define the brand guidelines and social media best practices, develop an experimentation framework for social media, and help shape content strategy. You will create and implement an influencer marketing program that is scalable, relevant, and authentic while also building and leading a small team of marketers to establish, streamline, and oversee social media processes, content monetization, and reporting for the business. A successful candidate is able to evolve with the ever-changing landscape of social media and is comfortable collaborating cross-functionally. You will bring a strong record of delivering creative, data-driven campaigns that drive bottom-line results for a customer-obsessed, growing B2C business. This role will be based in Austin, Texas and will report into the Senior Director, Acquisition and Awareness. 


Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and oversee cross-platform social media strategies that drive increased growth, engagement, and monetization revenue across all sport verticals
  • Create platform-specific social media best practices and playbooks that define our overall social media strategy and success metrics, and implement them cross-functionally with creative teams
  • Own the organic social media experimentation roadmap for all of our sport verticals and create an optimization feedback loop with our creative teams that maximizes performance against KPIs 
  • Track, analyze, and report on performance and monetization to ensure adherence to best practices across all teams and platforms
  • Leverage data on audiences, content consumption, industry trends, competitive business intelligence, and social media best practices in order to continuously refine our strategy 
  • Develop and implement social media brand guidelines that amplify the company’s vision for our sport communities and ensure consistency and authenticity for every FloSports’ vertical 
  • Partner with members of the paid social media team to share insights and optimizations related to content and messaging

Influencer Marketing:

  • Build and own a comprehensive organic and paid influencer marketing program that  includes original content creation, influencer management, campaign planning, deal negotiation, budget management, and performance analysis. 
  • Create a framework to develop and scale our influencer program across all our verticals to reach new audiences 
  • Identify, build, and manage relationships with endemic and non-endemic influencers, athletes, and celebrities while negotiating contracts that produce a positive ROI
  • Ideate compelling and trending content types for influencer campaigns in collaboration with our creative teams 
  • Establish program goals and leverage data and analytics to constantly optimize brand awareness, engagement, and ROI
  • Identify and implement emerging trends, platform features, technologies, and tools to foster innovation and maximize program performance

  • You have experience negotiating with influencers, celebrities, and their agents. You know how to drive a deal, and you never split the difference. 
  • You are known for your collaboration and your cross-functional influence. You know how to give direction and feedback to peers outside of your team.

  • 8+ years marketing experience with at least 4+ years of people management 
  • Proven success designing, building, implementing, and iterating on social media, influencer marketing, and content monetization strategies
  • Expert-level knowledge of social media platforms, trends, features, and analytics 
  • Experience working with influencers, creators, and celebrity talent. Experience with sports-specific talent is a huge plus.
  • Proven success managing a budget and delivering results with a positive ROI
  • Proven success working cross-functionally with internal business partners, including content, design, and data analytics teams 
  • Experience building a high-impact team; growing the skills of a team, helping prioritize, motivate, and deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting/speaking in front of senior leaders
  • MS/MBA in Marketing or related creative field is a huge plus
  • Previous work history in tech, media, or sports is preferred
