Guided by EO’s core values, trust and respect, thirst for learning, think big, be bold, and together we grow, EO’s international staff works across diverse cultures in support of EO’s global community. As an EO employee, you will work in a global entrepreneurial community and have opportunities for learning, collaboration, and professional growth. EO offers a competitive total rewards package, including benefits and professional development support, and a flexible work environment, subject to role, location, and applicable plan terms.
POSITION SUMMARY
EO’s Vice President, Chapter Operations serves as the senior leader accountable for the full operational and strategic health of EO’s global chapter network. This role provides executive-level oversight across all chapter-facing functions, with three primary areas of direct leadership: Chapter Health, Net Growth, and Forum. Each is led by a Senior Director reporting directly to this role. In addition, the VP holds strategic oversight over EO’s chapter operations model in both its current state and as it expands. The VP will drive the strategic direction and integration of these accountabilities, ensuring a coherent, consistent, and high-quality member experience across all 220+ chapters worldwide. Further, this role is responsible for team health and development across a team of 20.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic integrator across all areas of chapter operations, including Chapter Health, Net Growth, and Forum, ensuring these areas operate as an aligned chapter operations system rather than as separate functions; connect priorities, insights, and decision-making across teams so EO’s approach to chapter operations is cohesive, scalable, and greater than the sum of its parts.
- Develop and lead EO’s long-range chapter operations strategy, with full accountability for: (1) the overarching chapter operations strategy to support EO’s next phase of growth; and (2) strategies to serve potential non-geographic chapters in the future. This work will shape how EO’s chapter network operates at scale — without this strategic architecture, the risk is a fragmented network that cannot deliver consistent support or coherent global impact.
- Provide strategic oversight and governance of all chapter-facing membership policies, including Chapter Agreements, naming conventions, probation processes, and chapter closure procedures. Ensure these policies are current, clearly communicated, and consistently applied across all chapters and regions. Clear, well-governed policies protect EO’s brand, ensure equity across the network, and give staff the authority they need to address non-compliance before it becomes a chapter health issue.
- Serve as a key organizational integrator ensuring alignment across Membership and EO’s functional teams, including Finance and Technology, as they relate to chapter operations.
- Implement designated cross-functional projects as agreed upon with the CMO.
Oversight Areas
- Chapter Health: Provide executive-level oversight of the Chapter Health function. This team’s purpose is to strengthen long-term chapter performance and sustainability through proactive health measurement, lifecycle management, and scalable support frameworks. Strategic focus areas include chapter excellence and sustainability, proactive support and intervention, and chapter alignment and operational effectiveness. The VP ensures this function is resourced and directed to: maintain and evolve the Chapter Health Framework; enable chapter leader success across Area Directors, Chapter Presidents, and chapter staff; oversee chapter diagnostics, lifecycle management, and chapter-facing program development; set standard chapter operations policies; manage at-risk chapter governance processes; and ensure effective rollout of chapter operational platforms. Chapter health is the foundation of EO’s value proposition: without a consistent, well-governed standard, the organization cannot prioritize resources, identify at-risk chapters early, or replicate success across its global network.
- Net Growth: Provide executive-level oversight of the Net Growth function. This team’s purpose is to drive sustainable membership growth through recruitment, regional growth planning, and member engagement across the full tenure lifecycle. The VP ensures this function delivers on: net growth strategy and forecasting; regional growth planning and chapter launch support; global recruitment strategy and investment decisions; support for all levels of member leaders in growth and engagement; regional member engagement strategy; and member tenure strategies. Chapters that are not growing are typically declining — net growth and sustained member engagement are chapter health indicators in their own right, ensuring chapters maintain the critical mass and culture needed to thrive.
- Forum: Provide executive-level oversight of the Forum function. This team’s purpose is to ensure forum health is a driver of engagement, chapter health, and ultimately member renewals. Strategic focus areas include forum program needs and delivery, forum health assessment and targeted assistance, and forum’s role in renewal likelihood. The VP ensures this function delivers on: global forum standards, needs, and content; forum delivery excellence; forum health tracking and assessment; facilitator management; and forum placement support for new member onboarding. Forum is EO’s signature member experience and a primary driver of retention — its quality at the chapter level is inseparable from chapter health.
- Key Member Relationships: The EO Global Board is currently evaluating the future state of the organization’s strategy for key member relationships (including SLPs and Next Gen). The VP, Chapter Operations will provide executive-level oversight of the Key Relationships function.
