We are looking for an experienced Staff Cloud Security Engineer to join our growing Security team who will support Egnyte’s NetOPS, CloudOps, SRE, and Production Engineering teams in building a secure infrastructure following the industry’s best practices in the DevSecOps way. Working in this role, you will have a chance to develop security-oriented tools and processes from conception to completion and foster a culture of security.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Perform deep, technical security assessments to enforce secure design principles across our cloud infrastructure
  • Be part of the team which is constantly improving and automating the security posture of the cloud infrastructure at Egnyte
  • Expanding and improving automation harness for both efficiency and ease of use
  • Work with our Security and other Engineering teams to design and implement cloud security solutions in the organization
  • Providing Security assistance to other Egnyte teams in case of security-related topics
  • Defining security strategy within the company
  • Leading security efforts between several project/product lines

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of total cloud engineering (AWS, Azure, GCP)  experience
  • 3+ years of working experience in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP)-based environment, working in a security-focused role.
  • Thorough understanding of the Cloud Security threat landscape
  • Experience working in the Security as Code paradigm with both OSS as well as enterprise-grade tools
  • Practical ability to script a PoC on the fly. The weapon of choice is strongly task-dependent but most of the time Python is preferred.
  • Expertise in conducting Threat Modeling sessions and ability to co-design secure by default systems.
  • In-depth understanding of Linux primitives (Cgroups, namespaces, etc.) and hands-on administration experience (RHEL)
  • Worked with and secured managed Kubernetes platforms such as GKE, EKS, or AKS
  • A strong technical background in build and release environments, with experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, Puppet
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and operating Cloud Security tools like Sysdig, Lacework, etc.
  • Knowledge of information security concepts and technologies such as IDS, internet gateways, SIEM, HIDS, NIDS, web application firewalls, and vulnerability management tools
  • Networking experience: load balancing, network security, standard network protocols
