GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE:

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and leads a team of multi-skilled Maintenance Technicians working in a team based, automated distribution facility.  The overall purpose of this role is to successfully implement and sustain a high performance maintenance and reliability system encompassing people, processes, and equipment.

The maintenance supervisor assures that all maintenance activities comply with all applicable Conair, local, state, and federal policies, codes, and regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive a maintenance culture that is focused on teamwork, continuous improvement, positive morale, accountability, and delivering exceptional results in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Meet or exceed the needs of the operational partner at all times.
  • Work cooperatively with the Maintenance Manager and other departmental stakeholders to develop and implement “best practices” for all maintenance activities.
  • Work cooperatively with the Maintenance Manager and others to develop and execute optimized weekly maintenance plans.
  • Schedules and directs the daily activities of the maintenance team to execute all planned and emergency work orders in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assures that all maintenance related documents are processed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to any/all maintenance budget requirements related to the job function.
  • Ensures all maintenance related projects and work are in compliance with standards set by OSHA, EPA, and any other governing agencies by which we manage our business.
  • Consistently demonstrate, by example, leadership behaviors focusing on both what and how we achieve    results.
  • Assist in setting performance goals and developmental objectives for self and all direct reports.
  • Provide formal and informal support and coaching to direct reports as needed to improve performance and/or generate opportunities for further growth and development.
  • Never compromise on safety and hold direct reports accountable for results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years’ technical leadership experience in a proactive maintenance environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of automated processes and production equipment.
  • Solid understanding of industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to apply knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, improve, and instruct others regarding plant production and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend, apply, and communicate information contained in electrical schematics, mechanical
  • Must be a person of professional integrity that is detail oriented, self-motivated, and capable of holding self and others accountable while working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen, creative thinking skills and able to make correct decisions in a timely manner.  
  • High School diploma or GED
  • .PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining TPM based maintenance systems.
  • Experience working in a large distribution facility.
