The Director, Sales Analytics, Ecommerce will lead the sales analytics function for the company’s accelerating Ecommerce business, providing actionable insights to drive business growth, optimize performance, and improve profitability. This role will lead the customer analytics for the enterprise, responsible for Amazon, Retail.com, and DTC Channels. This leader will work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to build a comprehensive analytics strategy that supports key business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong leadership skills, deep analytical expertise, and a solid understanding of the Ecommerce landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy Development:
- Lead and manage the sales analytics team, driving the development of key performance metrics, forecasting models, and reporting processes for Ecommerce sales.
- Build and execute an analytics strategy to support sales growth, improve profitability, and optimize customer acquisition and retention.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders to guide decision-making.
- Sales Performance Optimization:
- Analyze Ecommerce sales data to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement across product categories, channels, and customer segments.
- Identify and communicate areas of opportunity to optimize pricing, promotions, product assortment, and inventory management.
- Actively monitor competitive activity and tactics, flagging potential risks and collaborating with sales teams to develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with sales, marketing, product, and finance teams to develop and refine strategies based on analytics insights.
- Collaborate with the Ecommerce team to ensure alignment between data-driven decisions and business objectives.
- Drive data-driven discussions with stakeholders to gain buy-in and influence business strategies.
- Reporting and Data Management:
- Oversee the creation of regular sales and performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and business teams.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of sales data, working with IT and data teams to manage data integrity across multiple platforms.
- Continuously improve reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics processes to ensure actionable insights are available in real-time.
- Customer Insights and Segmentation:
- Develop deep insights into customer behavior and purchasing patterns to guide segmentation, targeting, and personalization efforts.
- Use customer data to refine Ecommerce marketing strategies, improve user experience, and increase conversion rates.
- Monitor customer lifetime value and churn rates, and develop strategies to improve customer retention.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with the latest analytics technologies, tools, and trends in Ecommerce.
- Leverage advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence) to drive sales forecasting and decision-making.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the Ecommerce team.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience in sales analytics, business intelligence, or related roles, with at least 5 years in team and project leadership position.
- Strong background in Ecommerce sales analytics, including proficiency with sales platforms and Ecommerce tools.
- Experience with syndicated data measures and software (e.g. Circana, Nielsen) and customer analytics tools (e.g. Luminate, Stackline).
- Hands-on experience in DTC analytics across both paid and organic channels (e.g. GA360, email)
- Comfortable managing large datasets and working with cross-functional teams to drive business results.
- Skills:
- Expertise in analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, SQL).
- Strong understanding of pure play and DTC Ecommerce performance metrics (e.g., ACOS, ROAS, conversion rates, and customer acquisition cost (CAC)).
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
