Job Title: Assistant Donation Manager

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet ArlingtonDonations

Reports to: Store Manager

Status: Full-time/exempt

Supervisory Role: Donations staff and serve staff

Objective

To lead and direct the donations team to implement processes to obtain and prepare inventory in order to drive sales revenue while keeping focus on The Church of Eleven22® and Hope’s Closet® vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Minister of the gospel
  • Recruit, develop, train and disciple Hope’s Closet staff and serve staff
  • Manage day-to-day operations of donation receipts, cleaning, pricing, ensuring quality standards, storage, distribution, replenishment, etc.
  • Develop, manage and motivate Hope’s Closet donations staff and serve staff to efficiently work in a high-volume environment; provide feedback and evaluations to improve productivity, engagement and drive culture
  • Lead team in providing excellent donation drop-off service 
  • Oversee inventory preparation for floor moves including partnering with Store Manager and store teams
  • Lead and manage in reporting accurate department data– i.e. donation processing, receiving logs, inventory estimation, back stock records and serve staff hours
  • Meet processing goals of needed product and provide weekly updates on department
  • Partner with Warehouse Manager on centralizing TBP Process and vendor relationships
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Manager and store teams for truck pickups/drop offs and partnership for any inventory needs
  • Equipped in point of sale (POS) and opening/closing procedures for customer experience to be able to support when needed
  • Responsible for proper safety and security policies/processes which include staff’s safety development, equipment care and equipment rental standards
  • Manage scheduling for department and leading in the recruitment of serve staff
  • 24/7 on call Hope’s Closet contact, shared with store manager and facilities
  • Shared responsibility as manager in building with management team
  • Assist in serve staff orientation using these times to cast vision 
  • Collaborate with Hope’s Closet management teams

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience managing multiple employees/volunteers

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position which reports to the Store Manager. Days and hours may change weekly based on the store needs. Weekends are required.

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage you to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure The Hope’s Closet team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment which includes both sales floor and warehouse/stockrooms. This role routinely uses retail fixtures and equipment like dollies, ladders, hand carts, box trucks, rolling racks and forklifts.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged time periods bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials walk on uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs, label, sort and stock and lift 50lbs.
