Job Title: Communications Project Manager 

Ministry/Department: Communications 

Reports to: Communications Director 

Status: Full-time, exempt 

Supervisory Role: No 

Objective

Strategically plan, effectively manage and efficiently execute all communication projects. Project management to support churchwide communication needs and to incorporate proactive collaboration with ministry areas. Responsibilities to include brainstorming new ideas for ministry partners, content creation, copywriting provision, budgetary recommendations, workflow oversight and completion of projects.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the mission of The Church of Eleven22®
    • Function as a vision ambassador by ensuring that all ministry area communication initiatives align with the mission and vision of Eleven22
    • Partner with ministry areas to brainstorm strategic ways to engage congregants in ministry opportunities to discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus
    • Follow churchwide directives from executive leadership to determine new and expressive ways to communicate on behalf of Eleven22
    • Equip the saints for the work of ministry through leading and discipling a serve staff team and assigning projects based on their individual giftings and abilities
  • Manage all communication projects for assigned ministry areas
    • Strategically plan, manage and execute communication projects for various ministries
    • Collaborate with ministry teams to facilitate creative brainstorming sessions aligning with their objectives
    • Produce high-quality design materials (e.g., brochures, posters, digital graphics) to support ministry initiatives
    • Tailor design solutions to suit each ministry's unique needs and preferences for effective communication
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining consistency in branding and messaging
    • Act as the main point of contact for print, web and social media collateral
    • Oversee all aspects of communication projects including scheduling, assigning tasks, providing updates, managing content creation, placing production orders and ensuring final product quality
  • Support Comm team internal best practices
    • Document management/asset management – follow protocol for best practice usage of shared folders/document storage and managing comm assets (files, photos, videos, etc.)
    • Comm team playbook support Comm team in being proactive by leading review of Comm team “playbook” quarterly at Comm team meetings and updating throughout the year as nessecary
    • Basecamp – utilize Basecamp to participate in the establishment, organization and completion of short-term and long-term objectives
  • Churchwide communications
    • Comm email inbox – maintain organization of comm email inbox and triage incoming emails from members and non-members across the world to provide timely, relational, empathetic and gospel-centered responses
    • Mass communications – Partner with ministry areas to create monthly updates email for church serve staff and church staff, monthly Eleven22 News email and other ministry-specific or event specific email communications
    • Miscellaneous projects – Work directly with Comm Director to independently complete special churchwide communication projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of project management experience
  • Time management, prioritization and multitasking skills required
  • Expert interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills required
  • Intermediate to expert user of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Experience utilizing project management platforms, such as Basecamp
  • Proven ability to self-manage

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm. 

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. 

Ministerial Exception

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
