Job Title: Welcome Director

Ministry/Department: Multisite

Reports to: Associate Campus Pastor, Operations

Status: Full-time, exempt

Supervisory Role: Yes

Objective

This position aims to equip the saints for both the work of ministry and the discipleship of the individual. The Welcome Director will partner with the corresponding Campus Pastor to shepherd the flock with specific focus on each aspect of guest experience from street to seat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Campus Pastor(s) and team to shepherd the San Pablo campus
  • Collaborate with the central team to provide vision, leadership and guidance to assigned campus team and serve staff pertaining to welcome
  • Support the Central and San Pablo teams by leading events on the campus level
    • Project planning and implementation
    • Collaborate with other ministries to ensure smooth operations and alignment with campus goals and objectives
  • Take ownership of the Welcome Standard Operating Procedures, continuously refining, updating and adapting them to support our growth and ensure a consistently positive experience
  • Guide the weekend services by taking ownership of all details revolving around the guests and covenant members experience from street to seat
    • Spearhead the parking initiative by providing a quality short-term and long-term parking play which maximizes parking spaces
    • Create a pipeline for communication via real-time feedback and live adjustments to ensure a first-rate parking experience
    • Assign focused leadership roles for ongoing logistics and operations of both parking resources and traffic flow
    • Recruit and oversee the teams including parking on-site, golfcart, parking off-site, interior welcome and chair team; this will total over 300+ serve staff across all services
    • Ensure that the experience is a timely, clear, and quality experience for guests
  • Offer ongoing leadership, coaching, development and accountability to direct reports and serve staff teams
  • Shepherd the flock as Director ofWelcome to audit, improve and launch all existing and future campuses
  • Responsible for managing and tracking the spending of the Welcome and Offsite budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of ministry leadership experience including experience managing teams, volunteers and/or ministry areas
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work may vary based on church need.

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and in and out of congregant’s homes. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. Some travel required.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing for extended periods of time, lifting up to 25 lbs. and some activity is required surrounding event set up and execution. The role will sometimes require the ability to lift heavy equipment, use tools and move staging equipment. 

Ministerial Exception

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
