Job Title: Hope’s Closet Store Manager

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Arlington

Reports to: Hope’s Closet General Manager

Status: Full-time/exempt

Supervisory Role: Hope’s Closet Assistant Manager, Store Coordinator, Staff and serve staff

Objective

To manage and implement the day-to-day operations of the retail ministry to reach sales revenue goals while keeping focus on The Church of Eleven22® and Hope’s Closet@ vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.   

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Minister of the gospel
    • Lead in the discipleship of staff and serve staff  

Lead in carrying the culture of the ministry and team

  • Manage Hope’s Closet’s day-to-day operations:  
    • Meet monthly sales goals
    • Lead managers to execute strategies to reach monthly sale goals   
    • Manage store’s inventory needs and lead team to reach weekly inventory processing goals  
    • Audit inventory receipt, cleaning, storage, distribution, replenishment to ensure quality and store inventory needs are met  
    • Customer relations  
    • Merchandising and replenishment process – ensure sales floor team executes merchandising plans, keep store sales floor full of product
    • Oversee opening/closing store operations
    • Provide manager support to Store Coordinator in serve staff onboarding and communication
    • Create store schedule
  • Oversee the store’s operating budget and expenses
  • Responsible for safety and security processes and procedures 
  • Oversees the store’s serve staff recruitment, training and care   
  • Develop and manage Hope’s Closet employees - weekly/monthly 1:1s, evaluations & training
  • Responsible for hiring process and training of staff
  • Work directly with central operations team in building maintenance and solve all facilities, safety and IT issues in a timely manner    
  • Participate in Hope’s Closet leadership meetings

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position which reports to Hope’s Closet General Manager. Days and hours may change weekly based on store needs. Weekends and closing shifts required. 

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. These events are encouraged for all of Hope’s Closet staff to serve or to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment which includes both sales floor and warehouse/stockrooms. This role routinely uses retail fixtures and equipment like dollies, rolling racks, hand carts, rolling carts, ladders, cash registers and computers.  

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged time periods, bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials, walk on uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
