Job Title: Director of Safety and Security

Reports to: Director of Operations
Status: Full-time, exempt
Supervisory Role: Yes
Objective
The role will be responsible for building teams, facilitating relationship building and making disciples by leading all aspects of church Safety and Security from a holistic church perspective, including all of The Church of Eleven22® campuses, Hopes Closet® stores and additional facilities. This dynamic operation is subject to changes in many forms, including the potential for shifting and growing responsibilities, evolving risks and threats, new strategies and changing tactics.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaged leadership, disciple-maker and collaborative partner
- Recruit, retain and develop serve staff teams, to include Nehemiah and others, such as ushers, greeters, parking, etc.
- Actively develop Nehemiah leaders, team members and Operations Ministry leaders
- Develop Safety and Security strategies and oversee the execution to include actively assessing risk, identifying risk reduction activities and proactively sending communication out to necessary parties
- Oversee emergency management functions to include, but is not limited to;
- Weather-related events, nearby emergencies, etc.
- Safety and Security for special events and protective operations
- Physical security and asset protection programs (such as electronic surveillance, access control and lighting)
- Background checks for serve staff and vendors (to include follow-up on adverse findings and investigating incidents and threats)
- Threat assessment and management
- Promote and advocate for safety and safe behaviors by staff, serve staff and others, including coordinating training for ushers, greeters, parking teams, etc.
- Partner and coordinate 3rd party support and engagement to include JSO resources, emergency responders, fire and intelligence sources
- Ensure the safety and security of our Eleven22 Kids environments, by prioritizing these areas specifically
- Advise staff on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies
- Implement risk management best practices using generally accepted project management and consulting practices
- Any and all additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent education, training or experience
- Five years of relevant experience preferred
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Operations. Days and hours of work consist of a Monday-Friday work week with an occasional weekend workday.
The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This job also operates on construction sites where appropriate OSHA protection is required.
This job requires around 20% of weekly travel between campuses.
Physical Demands
This role would require the ability to lift equipment and bend or stand as needed. This position works on construction sites and the use of equipment such as ladders may be required. Must possess the ability and readiness to take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and protection of others in potentially hazardous situations.
Ministerial Exception
The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
