Description

 

The Position: Under the supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor, the Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching of all CEI transportation services to program participants. Utilizing the routing and scheduling software; manages alert screen logs, reviews past, current, and future trips, on-time performance, vehicle availability, cancels trips as needed, and confirms end of day route duties are complete.

The hourly range for the Transportation Dispatcher at Center For Elders Independence is $21.89- $32.73 per hr. Hourly Rate based on the market for the Transportation Dispatcher position, as well as experience, skills, abilities and work history     

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Manage alert screen to log and review trips and drivers performance.
  2. Document and report any unusual incidents with drivers and/or participants.
  3. Manage vehicle availability and routes accordingly.
  4. Make sure all trips are accounted for. No open will-calls, no unassigned trips, no runs with no driver.
  5. Manage trip adjustments as needed.
  6. Make sure all drivers are accounted for and performing driver end of day duties.
  7. Prepare for next hours of business. Review upcoming trips in the schedule.
  8. Cancel any trip that is still open that will not be performed.
  9. Follow up with participants on cancelations and communicate to appropriate departments as needed.
  10. Act as a liaison between the transportation department and center staff for related updates and answers.
  11. Communicate any changes or adjustments with contracted transportation services in tandem with dispatch manager
  12. Assist with maintaining the transportation hub and or all changes to participant profiles or schedules.
  13. Attend routing and scheduling software company offered educational programming to maintain competency with software functionality.
  14. Follow all CEI Policies and Procedures.
  15. Comply with all agency training requirements including department specific meetings and trainings.
  16. Maintain safe working environment by following CEI’s safety P&P’s.
  17. Maintain a courteous, helpful and professional attitude on the job. Display a willingness and ability to be responsive to all customer groups.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned in a positive and helpful manner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1-2 years’ Experience working in a dispatch or related administrative function.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  5. Phone Experience in a call center environment is a plus.
  6. Strong organizational skills.
  7. Ability to effectively problem-solve complex issues.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  9. Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary setting.
  10. Bilingual a plus but not required.
