 The Position: 

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Lead EHR Engineer to manage our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, eClinicalWorks. In this leadership role, you will ensure the EHR operates smoothly and aligns with our business objectives by collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize its performance and convert feature improvements into organizational value. Additionally, you will provide strategic recommendations for leveraging the EHR to enhance clinical workflows.  This role will play a crucial part in scaling and shaping the future of EHR technologies and systems within our organization.

 

The salary range for the Lead EHR Engineer position at Center For Elders Independence is $ 99,340 - $ 148,969 per yr.  Salary based on the market for the Lead EHR Engineer position, as well as experience, skills, abilities and work history

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of EHR engineers and technical staff. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • EHR System Management: Lead the configuration strategy and optimization of the eClinicalWorks EHR system. Ensure its availability, functionality, and integration with other clinical and administrative systems.
  • Upgrades & Enhancements: Ensure that all updates align with the organization’s operational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to understand needs, gather feedback, and translate them into system enhancements. Collaborate with vendors and external stakeholders for system integrations and updates.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure the EHR system remains compliant with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, as well as relevant industry standards for data security, privacy, and interoperability.
  • Innovation & Strategic Planning: Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually improve the EHR system. Provide strategic recommendations for leveraging the EHR to enhance clinical workflows, data management, and patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in healthcare technology is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing, configuring, or developing with EHR systems, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Extensive experience with eClinicalWorks EHR platform is highly preferred.
    • Proven experience in system integrations, data migrations, and upgrades.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of EHR technologies, healthcare IT infrastructure, and industry standards (HL7, FHIR, etc.).
    • Proficiency in database management, software development, and application configuration.
    • Experience with system security protocols and compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
    • Knowledge of SQL, scripting languages, and integration tools.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead technical teams. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications: eClinicalWorks certification or similar healthcare IT certifications preferred

 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud-based EHR solutions or other leading EHR platforms.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows, clinical documentation, and patient care processes.
  • Experience using PRINCE 2 or PMP project management methodologies.
