Description

The Position: The Director of Finance supports data-driven technical guidance, solutions, and assessment of business needs and requirements.  Oversees Financial and Encounter Analyst duties such as IBNR, RDT (Rate Development Template), Medicare Part D Bid, Encounter data management. In concert with the Controller, oversees regulatory reporting, forecasting and budgeting. Manages team of two analysts.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development/Perform complex business analysis utilizing cost data, patient demographic data, and other information from the database(s) such as contract rate, return on investment (ROI), long-term financial plan, benchmarking, and other ad hoc analyses.
  • Leads and participates in the development of the annual operating budget.
  • Oversee financial reporting, IBNR preparation, and reinsurance program.
  • Manages, plans, and directs the daily operations of analyst team members
  • Oversees inbound/outbound encounter data management submissions, including the ongoing approval of both routine and ad hoc encounter data submissions to state and federal agencies.
  • Develops standard reports and analyses used by the team.
  • Provides support and guidance to a broad range of internal division leaders on data-driven healthcare trends.
  • Support data-driven technical guidance, solutions, and assessment of business needs and requirements
  • Monitors operational and financial performance, and manages the presentation of financial information in conjunction with the Controller.
  • Providing guidance and rules to IT on data structures, mappings and source code changes to ensure data quality and process efficiency as well as coordinating with other departments on new lines of business set up, new vendor set up, encounter rules and logic implementation and testing.
  • Promotes professional development among staff members and identifies opportunities for growth to meet strategic goals of the division

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; a master's degree preferred in Analytics, ISDS, MBA or MHA will substitute for 3 years of experience Advanced healthcare analytical skills.
  • Job Requirements 6 years of progressive experience in Health care Finance, Data Analytics, or Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of related managerial experience
  • Knowledge of Medicaid or Medicare, entitlement programs and related regulations
  • PACE program experience highly desirable.

 

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Excellent financial analysis abilities including significant experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling and analysis.
  • In depth knowledge of managed care industry financial analysis, financial planning, strategic and business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strength in building relationships and partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Maintains awareness of new and current decision support techniques and technologies
  • Experience in the Rate Development Template life cycle
  • Proficiency of budgeting tools such as Workday Adaptive.
