Position Summary

Global Generic Summary

Manages repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment's and utilities including:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure
  • Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations
  • Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions

Primary Duties

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently.
  • Contribute to root‑cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry‑level technicians.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols.
  • Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience with intermediate to advanced‑level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience.

Preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electro‑mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred with experience in electro‑mechanical, high‑speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working in a cGMP / regulated environment desired.
  • Ability to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems desired.
  • Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus.
  • Basic computer skills required; must be experienced and proficient in email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word and Excel).

The estimated salary range for this role is between $28.00 -$41.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
