Description

This field-based position covers the Ohio Valley territory, including Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Indiana, and requires travel throughout the region up to 80% of the time.

 

Position Summary

This position is to provide solution-oriented consultative training, technical support and troubleshooting at customer sites, and remotely, on bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines. Effectively work with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go live of new instrumentation. Retain current customer business, while developing and strengthening customer relationships that result in customer loyalty and positive referrals. Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure customers receive prompt, accurate and professional support to further their business needs. The Field Application Specialist I promotes teamwork and cooperation, removes barriers to productivity, and creates an enthusiastic, positive work environment.

 

Primary Duties

  1. Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, and ongoing support of bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines within the U.S. customer base.
  2. Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong professional relationships with all customers.
  3. Answer internal and external customer inquiries and ensure regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in bioMérieux’s CRM system; consulting as appropriate with Sales Partners, Application Specialists, Field/System Engineers, IT Resources, Management teams, and Local/Global Support Teams.
  4. Provide consistent follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet minimum key performance indicators.
  5. Responsible for efficient territory management within operating expense budget.
  6. Support bioMérieux revenue initiatives.
  7. Territory management over designated geographic area. Extensive field travel is required (average 75%, including overnight stays).
  8. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, technical or life science field required.
    • MLS (ASCP) Certification Preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent required. bioMérieux product experience preferred.
    • Experience with CLIA regulations and/or other laboratory credentialing standards preferred.
    • Experience with related technical field applications support strongly preferred.
    • Laboratory Information System (LIS) or Connectivity/Networking experience a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Domestic travel required: 75%
  • International travel required: 5%
  • Total travel: 80%

 

The estimated salary range for this role is between $78,000 and $104,300/year. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
