Supply Chain Manager
Description
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing strategic planning to achieve key business objectives in our logistics operations. They will act as a subject matter expert in support of operational best practices, including supply chain, outsourcing, operational optimization, and tools/technologies. They will collect, analyze, and interpret data, and implement initiatives to optimize logistics efficiency and cost reduction. They will monitor the company’s incoming finished goods for compliance risk and enhance the company’s supply chain strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Launch and maintain brokerage and transportation for leading logistics sectors
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for business/opportunity analysis
- Benchmark competitive brokerage and transportation RFPs/RFQs
- Support vendor selection and overall vendor operations strategy
- Review and assist with statement of work creation and contract negotiation with vendor partners
- Co-work with cross-functional teams to identify and optimize processes and reduce cost
- Lead project implementation to drive process improvement initiatives
- Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data to improve logistics processes
- Implement trade compliance programs to identify risks and prevent and mitigate damages related to customs laws
- Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations
- Partner with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues promptly
- Monitor trade regulation updates and provide guidance to internal teams on implications for imports and exports
- Conduct internal audits to ensure proper valuation, classification, and documentation of imported/exported goods
- Manage relationships with logistics service providers, customs brokers, and other external vendors
- Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure service levels meet company standards
- Identify potential compliance and operational risks across import/export and logistics functions
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for management on compliance performance, vendor performance, and logistics metrics
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert in the delivery and evaluation of logistics, supply chain, and trade compliance
- Proactive with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
- Strong ownership and organizational skills
- Proven skills with MS Excel to successfully execute projects
- Working knowledge and understanding of supply chain, global logistics, and trade compliance
- Ability to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, results-oriented corporate environment requiring high flexibility
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining strong partnering relationships with internal and external customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Required Qualifications:
Years of Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Education, or related field
Work Experience
- 7+ years of experience in a logistics environment and/or project management
- Proven track record of leading and driving process improvement
- Experience working with 3PL companies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in logistics and supply chain management
- Ability to plan and prioritize work
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Models leadership behaviors supporting integrity, valuing diversity, innovation, relationship building, customer focus, and teamwork
- Software skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex and/or confidential information
Working Conditions:
- Office environment
- Requires sitting and operating a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time
- Occasional extended travel (up to two weeks at a time), representing less than 5% of the role
$100,000 - $130,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. It does not include bonuses, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, EAP, & 401(k). The final amount will be determined based on the qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
