Position Overview:
The Editorial Director/Producer is a key position in the web content publishing team. The position directs
and supervises production of video commentaries (“ReCAPs”) featuring medical experts for both US and
global physician audiences. This person ensures timely completion and launch of engaging content at the
cutting edge of medical science for an audience of healthcare professionals across various specialties
and contributes to Medscape’s leadership position in health and medical information worldwide. 
Candidates must possess exceptional communication, operational, and organizational skills, including the
ability to balance competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities:
 Interviewing experts to develop and define ReCAP topics across wide range of medical
specialties
 Writing detailed scripts and graphic storyboards for ReCAP programs
 Directing experts during remote (ZOOM) shoots for ReCAP programs
 Overseeing post-production of ReCAP programs in collaboration with remote video editing teams
 Writing content for ReCAP landing page
 Researching topics across a range of medical specialties for MedscapeTV documentary series
 Outlining content to be covered in each episode of the series and composing interview questions
that will capture that content 
 Writing content for landing page of each assigned MedscapeTV series
 In-person and remote interviewing of all primary and secondary experts, clinicians, and patients
for all episodes in a series
 Writing scripts from transcripts of all interviews and developing concepts for needed graphics
 Supervising the post-production process from interview assembly to approved final cut
 Writing program descriptions for website landing pages

Appropriate Work Experience:
 5 years’ experience in medical digital publishing (text and video content) 
 TV journalism/video production experience helpful
 Highly detail oriented, organized self-starter
 Ability to work under deadline pressure
 BA required
