Position Description:

The dedicated Well-being Program Coordinator (WPC) will work collaboratively with the customer’s well-being team to provide face-to-face health coaching with eligible participants as well as raise awareness and increase engagement in the customer’s well-being program. The WPC will provide localized support that will create a culture of well-being.
 
Located in Washington, DC at the site of the designated client,  the WPC will assist in creating a culture of health by providing the following support: educational classes and webinars, host promotional events to increase engagement in the well-being program, collaborate with internal and vendor resources to host combined events, and partner with Well-being Champions to support well-being offerings at the local level. If the customer requests, the WPC will also offer face-to-face health coaching for individuals.  The WPC will work with and be a resource for the individual employer units in their health promotion activities. 
 
The successful candidate will have a background in health promotion, exercise physiology, and/or nutrition.
 
In this role you will:
  • Perform face-to-face at-risk health education; one-on-one, video, and active coaching. Provide assessment of at-risk areas and provide referral to appropriate resources. 
  • Create a culture of well-being at the worksite level. 
  • Provide assessment of at-risk areas and provide referral to appropriate resources. 
  • Understand and deliver customer-centered coaching through a combination of reflective listening and identification of readiness to change. 
  • Assist participants' progress through the stages of change for at-risk behavior. 
  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to elicit behavior change and reduce participant ambivalence. 
  • Participate in collective record keeping which allows for continuity to exist between multiple health education sessions. 
  • Coordinate the flow of information and materials between client, customer and individual employer units located in the area. 
  • Assist with day-to-day delivery of established programs with direction 
  • Coordination of meetings and other communications (internal and external).
  • Coordination and delivery of onsite events and classes. 
  • Coordinate and partner with Well-Being Champion Network. 
  • Develop and maintain schedules necessary to support the successful execution of client specific health education programs. 
  • Provide ongoing program performance review and strategy support. 
  • Perform other, mutually agreed upon job-related duties as assigned.

 

qualifications, skills and experience:

  • BS/BA Required; MS/MBA differentiator. 
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish and English)
  • Minimum of 2 years Wellness Coordinator/Health Coaching or similar client-facing experience required. 
  • Professional Certification from National Wellness Institute (NWI), The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC), or the equivalent certification preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple relationships with multiple client and customer stakeholders in a dynamic and matrixed environment. 
  • Business and technology services experience. 
  • Professional presence and technical credibility to interact with senior-level Customer contacts.

 


preferred:

  • 5 years Wellness Coordinator/Health Coaching or similar client-facing experience preferred
  • 5 of more years of delivering healthcare information products and services, especially consumer-facing interfaces and H&W administration, preferred.

Compensation: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00
