Software Licensing Manager 
  
As a Software Licensing Manager, you will manage various software and service agreements, maintenance and support contracts, and related services on behalf of engineering teams across the company. You will partner with the Strategic Sourcing group in Finance and with the business stakeholders to develop the strategy and plans for product licensing and supplier partnerships. You will maintain relationships with key providers, ensuring that Xperi receives optimal pricing, insight into product roadmaps, training on capabilities, and best practice guidance on implementation. You will track all renewal dates and payment schedules to ensure timely reimbursement for suppliers, as well as consistent evaluation of performance and decisions to renew. You will evaluate the existing landscape of suppliers and solutions and identify opportunities to consolidate, optimize, reduce costs, and minimize risk.  
  
Additional Responsibilities 
  • Establish and operate a centralized process for acquiring and licensing solutions that enables appropriate review and streamlines the process for responsiveness to stakeholder requests. 
  • Analyze various software cost models/options and provide recommendations to stakeholders. 
  • Participate in the contract management of large-scale, enterprise-wide volume purchase software or service agreements under the guidance of senior team members and the Strategic Sourcing group. 
  • Evaluate the business and product roadmap of potential suppliers. 
  • Continuously seek out cost savings opportunities and lead efforts to realize those savings, including: 
  • Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers (i.e., negotiated rates for growth or added capabilities).  
  • Consolidating contracts where products are licensed separately across the organization. 
  • Verifying proposed purchases are not duplicative of an existing product or service that is already engaged or where a viable equivalent already exists. 
  • Plan for, track, and manage software license renewals, ensuring timely negotiation with vendors and continuity of services. 
  • Initiate, track, and support purchase requests through the Xperi procurement process (which includes accounting, finance, security compliance and legal elements.) 
  • Maintain a list of suppliers and associated products and services that includes: 
  • Vendors with whom we have existing contracts.  
  • Vendors who we do not do business with (e.g. due to past poor performance.) 
  • Vendors with whom we are not currently contracted but may engage in the future. 
  • Publish and maintain a list of suppliers so that company stakeholders are aware of capabilities that are already available within the organization. 
  
  • Initiate and facilitate the execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements, Security and Privacy Assessments, Legal Contract Review, and Vendor Onboarding processes for new suppliers or partners. 
  • Assist the Security and Quality Management teams in ensuring supplier compliance (and certification) in required standards such as ISO-9001, Automotive SPICE, etc. 
  • Evaluate the performance of supplier/partners.  
  • Establish KPI’s appropriate to solution or services provided. 
  • Track performance against KPI’s and follow up with suppliers to ensure improvement where lacking. 
  • Develop a quarterly review process to help anticipate future sourcing needs and to align supplier/partner plans with Xperi business goals.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:  
  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Software and services procurement experience - 5+ years 
  • Knowledge and experience performing the following: 
  • Working with various licensing models including perpetual, term, and subscription agreements, and maintenance and support agreements. 
  • Working with various sourcing models – near shore, offshore, on shore, and blended teams. 
  • Familiarity with various hosting methods including on premise and cloud hosted (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). 
  • Assessment of technologies required in support of product development.  E.g. JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, Github, Docker, etc. 
  • Capture and tracking of issues in JIRA.  Documentation in Confluence.  Experience in Netsuite and Salesforce a plus. 
  • Participation in negotiations of large, enterprise software and service agreements. 
  • Participation in conducting formal RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes. 
  • Collaborating and negotiating with multiple stakeholder groups with distinct requirements. 
  • Negotiating favorable terms for licensing or services for a mid- to large organization. 
  • Review of license and service contracts and commercial terms.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology and software terminology 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technology preferred  
      
Working Conditions 
  • Hybrid Schedule – Two to Three in-office days weekly  

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $113,725 - $145,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
