Your Role as Office Project Engineer
Thompson Thrift Construction is seeking an Office Project Engineer to support Project Managers on projects across the country. This is an entry-level position with strong potential for advancement to a Project Manager role. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll assist in coordinating all aspects of ground-up and tenant finish-out construction.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Project Coordination: Schedule and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee punch list management and quality control processes.
- Documentation: Handle invoices, budgets, and other project-related documents.
- Safety Oversight: Support adherence to safety standards.
- Financial Management: Review project financials to ensure alignment with budgets.
Our Ideal Candidate for this Role
- Education: Degree in Construction Management or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in construction; multifamily construction experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and capacity for multitasking.
Schedule and Travel
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Travel Requirement: 30%
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This role involves moderate physical activity, including:
- Mobility: Frequently lifting 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Physical Actions: Requires frequent typing, reaching, grasping, and handling objects, with ability to stand, climb, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Vision: Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments are required.
- Work Conditions: Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, heavy machinery, and elevated work areas. May also involve noise, requiring elevated volume to communicate effectively.
